After such a great competition for our Melbourne Market in March we have decided to hold the Moodboard competition again. This time we are asking you to create a Moodboard for a Spring/Summer French Conservatory Garden Wedding. Fill it with images of dresses, colours, themes, flowers, decorations and more that will create a gorgeous and unique mood and starting point for a wedding. The above example will give you an idea of what we are looking for. You can use images from our Pinterest Board and/or add other gorgeous images you find. This can be done digitally [like above] or you can make a tactile version and then take a photo of it. Please make sure you credit all images to the copyright owners/original source as shown above [URLS would be wonderful too]

The winning moodboard, as chosen by the Portobello Bride team, will be the inspiration for a tablescape display that will be created as a center display at the Portobello Bride Spring/Summer Sydney market. The display will feature items and products from the Portobello Bride Market Stallholders and will be full of unique ideas and clever tricks from which visiting Brides can draw their own inspiration. This competition is open to anyone; brides-to be and wedding professionals alike - worldwide. Imagine having your ideas featured in front of leading vendors and professionals in the wedding industry!

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Sonia & Gabe by Jonathan Ong

Photographer Jonathan Ong sent us an email recently to let us know about a wedding he had photographed. He described the couple, Sonia and Gabe as "A pretty cool couple; the "frankie" fit". This got us very excited and we were not disappointed! After viewing Sonia and Gabe's wedding we knew we just HAD to share it with you! We are honoured to be the first blog to feature the gorgeous wedding of Sonia and Gabe!

 Gorgeous gown and lavender heels!

What a brilliantly composed photo!

What's not to love about this couple's style? It's retro, and vintage, edgy and awesome! Love Gabe's specs!

The photo above has a great sense of drama about it! Love it!

The rich colours of the flowers look amazing in the moody lighting of the reception hall. Their free form arrangement looks fantastic against the white linen and classically styled menu [designed by Gabe himself - he's a Graphic Designer].

What a fun couple! Why not create your own first dance memories that are more suited to you as couple, just like Sonia and Gabe did!

Here are some of the details from Sonia and Gabe's wedding:
Wedding Dress - Oglia-loro Haute Couture
Flowers - Cecilia Fox
Ceremony - St Mary's Catholic Church, St Kilda East
Reception - The Substation
Catering - Blake's Feast

Congratulations Sonia and Gabe! We wish you both the very best in your lives together!
A big thank you to Jonathan Ong for sharing such a "Porotbello Bride Style" wedding! Keep up the amazing work!

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Dani & Nick by NK Photography

When planning a wedding many brides are on the look out for something different from every other wedding. Something different is exactly what Dani and Nick created when they chose to have their ceremony take place on a boat! Now that is an experience your guests will never forget! We love the fact that they paired their unique ceremony with a special and intimate reception at Dani's family home. So sweet! Take a look at these amazing photos of the day from Portobello Bride member NK Photograph.

Gorgeous flat sandals are a very practical choice when one is to be married on a boat!

A few moments together before the ceremony.

Simple and sweet white lanterns help decorate the boat.

Sweet!

This photo has such a great Mod feel to it with the brickwork in the background.

Beautiful Summery colours and great patterns really pop against the white!

Such a unique and beautiful wedding! Congratulations Dani and Nick! We wish you both the very best in your life together!

A big thanks to Natasja from NK Photography for sharing her photos with us today!

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Tessa & Jaime by Milk & Honey Photography

Tessa and Jamie chose to have a very intimate wedding with only their close family attending the celebration. The ceremony was held in a secluded backyard in the inner Sydney suburb of Paddington. The intimate number of guests allowed them to have a leisurely lunch on the back patio for the reception. Boho chic are the words that come to mind when looking at this wedding. The colours are blogs and beautiful and rumour has it the feel of the day was inspired by the Bride's budgerigar - sweet! The gorgeous photos below were taken by Milk & Honey Photography.

The stunning array of flowers were gathered by Tessa and her Mum by scouring the streets for them in the days leading up to the wedding. The coordinating, but miss-matched fabrics look fantastic!

The place card design works in so well with the overall styling of the wedding. Perfection!

Tessa's parents surprised the couple with a trio of musicians who played just after the ceremony!

Fabulous and happy colours!

The gorgeous couple!

 Sweet moments!

 This photo is simply stunning!

Cupcakes and croquet add to the laid-back casual, but celebratory feel of the day!

This is one truly unique and personal wedding, and that is exactly what we at Portobello Bride love! Congratulations Tessa and Jamie! We wish you every happiness for your life together!
