Lily Allen makes a happy bride!

We love Lily Allen at Portobello, it's not surprising she didn't sell the rights to her wedding day to a glossy. After all her and her partner Sam Cooper have been through, she knows there is more to life than being a celebrity. Their wedding day was a personal, heartfelt affair which the celebrated with 100 of their closest friends and family. 

Here are just a few of our favourite images from their charming English wedding. 

News that a baby is on the way makes for even more reason to celebrate for this lovely couple. We wish them all the happiness in the next chapter of their life together.

What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of my job is when we work at creating new beading designs.  Beading is such a huge component of my collections. I also love to do photo shoots. 

What are you reading at the moment?
I am reading “Creativity” by Osho.

What are you lusting after at the moment?
I am lusting after going to a yoga retreat on an island someplace tropical. With massage every day, a good-looking pool boy fanning me with a palm leaf and feeding me pealed grapes whilst I lay in a hammock.

Top three songs on your play list?
Sigur Ross
Air
Spandau Ballet
I can’t name my favourite songs as I like all their work.

What is your favourite moment during a wedding?
When the groom sees the bride for the first time. This is so cute.

Who inspires you?
An inner child.

Favourite Cocktail?
Espresso Martini... they get me going!

What does it take to impress you?
A good sense of humour.  And kindness.

What is the best piece of advice you were ever given?
Not to take everything personally.

Favourite way to spend a Sunday?
A stroll around the Camberwell Market and then wine in a cafe with friends.

Your suggestion for a new name for ‘Hens party’?
“Chicks on the run”

Diamonds

What’s the best gift you have ever received?
A ticket to Italy.

People have described me as “fairy-like”.
I have also been called “oldy-worldy” however I am much more casual than I seem.

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Ramona & Daryl by It's Beautiful Here

Today we have the pleasure of sharing the personal and intimate wedding of Ramona and Daryl. The wedding was held in the Bride's share house in Fitzroy, Victoria. The gorgeous photos below were taken by Portobello Bride Member It's Beautiful Here.

Ramona tells us about her stunning dress:

My dress is so old I don't know who made it, but the Wedding Gown Specialists in Caulfield did an outstanding, loving restoration job on it and the amazing women at Elite Alterations in Richmond fitted it to me perfectly, in one go.

My grandmother bought it for my mother in 1960 when Mum was 15, to wear to her first ball. But Mum never wore it and in 1980 when I was 15 I pretty much stole it from her claiming it would "be the dress I married in" ... and it was! Thanks Nana.

The intimate atmosphere of this wedding is so precious!

Daryl and Ramona especially wanted to have photos taken outside this local unused church. The couple have spent many hours on these church steps together with a glass of wine. It's a very special place for them. Another beautiful personal touch.

Heath Boyd was our caterer and he was so easy to work with, he made the whole catering experience a delight. He embraced our vegan wedding with gusto and I think every guest commented on the amazing food he made. I hope I get to work with Heath again and can't recommend him enough! - Ramona [Bride]

The team at Portobello LOVE Kate Spade, the fun use of colour, the sense of humour in the designs and just the happy feeling one gets from the brand's outlook, so we were super excited to find out that Kate Spade has just launched a new collection called Wedding Belles (and Whistles). The range is broken up into three sections; for the Bride, for the Bridesmaids and for the Honeymoon and here are some of our favourites:

Of course the Bride-to-be could also create a fabulous look to wear to her Bridal Shower or Rehearsal Dinner from the range also!

The Boutique Wedding Market Fashion Shows

Today, we are excited to share some photos from the weekend's Boutique Wedding Market Fashion Shows. The Bridal Salon was filled with gorgeous Brides-to-be who were treated to a stunning Parisian-style fashion show at various points throughout the event. As mentioned last week we were privileged to showcase the work of Designers Amaline Vitale, Anna Campbell, Luisa Beccaria, Sarah Janks, and Fleur Wood who debuted her new bridal line as part of the Boutique Wedding Market!
