Gorgeous Vintage Birds Wedding Invitations from Little Flamingo

Little Flamingo recently emailed us photos of their new invitation design, which is such a wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary that we simply had to share it with you all. They have such a great vintage charm to them and with their blue and cream colour scheme, they would be a perfect inspiration for your own Royal Wedding inspired celebration!

A shimmery gold pocket with a sweet die-cut is printed in a thermographic (raised) ink with the vintage bird design along with bride and groom's names and they're wedding date. Inside a navy blue invitation card holds their celebration details and is printed in a flat cream ink. Reception information, response card and gift information cards are printed in navy blue on cream shimmer card and all slide neatly into this unique customised pocket.

The Vintage Birds Invitation is part of the current Little Flamingo wedding invitation range available though their website or in their Sydney showroom.

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Sonia & Gabe by Jonathan Ong

Photographer Jonathan Ong sent us an email recently to let us know about a wedding he had photographed. He described the couple, Sonia and Gabe as "A pretty cool couple; the "frankie" fit". This got us very excited and we were not disappointed! After viewing Sonia and Gabe's wedding we knew we just HAD to share it with you! We are honoured to be the first blog to feature the gorgeous wedding of Sonia and Gabe!

 Gorgeous gown and lavender heels!

What a brilliantly composed photo!

What's not to love about this couple's style? It's retro, and vintage, edgy and awesome! Love Gabe's specs!

The photo above has a great sense of drama about it! Love it!

The rich colours of the flowers look amazing in the moody lighting of the reception hall. Their free form arrangement looks fantastic against the white linen and classically styled menu [designed by Gabe himself - he's a Graphic Designer].

What a fun couple! Why not create your own first dance memories that are more suited to you as couple, just like Sonia and Gabe did!

Here are some of the details from Sonia and Gabe's wedding:
Wedding Dress - Oglia-loro Haute Couture
Flowers - Cecilia Fox
Ceremony - St Mary's Catholic Church, St Kilda East
Reception - The Substation
Catering - Blake's Feast

Congratulations Sonia and Gabe! We wish you both the very best in your lives together!
A big thank you to Jonathan Ong for sharing such a "Porotbello Bride Style" wedding! Keep up the amazing work!

Portobello Bride Featured Wedding: Alana & David by Anna Rose Photography

The wedding of Alana and David is a sumptuous example of simple, but stunning vintage styling and personal touches. Jen from Anna Rose Photography, a Portobello Bride Member, captured the day with detail and finished the images with a grainy, vintage layer that sets off the theme and styling of the Bride and the wedding in the perfect way. The photos are simply breathtaking... take a look...

Alana's scalloped lace edged veil is just perfectly vintage and matched with the beading on her gown, she looks divine!

The hanging origami cranes in the tree [above] and the flower-adorned tractor [below] are such simple, but gorgeous personal touches.

A special photo hangs from Alana's bouquet. What a great idea for your "something old".

We love a bride with personality! Colourful tattoos and golden sandals - who says a Bride has to wear heels?!

Stunning flowers in simple vessels bring colour and beauty to the reception.

More simple, but very effective styling. Keeping the candy bar colours to pink and white keep the table from looking messy and cluttered, which is a perfect partner for the fuss free, beautifully chic cake.

What a great couple! What a great Wedding!

Francesca Loves: Bow Ties

Whether it be for the Main Man, his Groomsmen buddies or the little man carrying the rings, Bow Ties are making a come-back into the wedding scene in a big way. Bow ties are versatile and can be worn at very formal weddings and those that are more casual. They are a great way to add a pop of colour or pattern to the male ensemble or to add the finishing touch to a sleek tuxedo. Here are some bow tie ideas I really love!

A Sweet Exclusive!

The newest member of our Boutique Wedding Guide is the talented Juli Sterten-Gill of Sweet! Cupcakes and Treats.
Juli has sent us an exclusive look at her Spring/Summer campaign for 2010/11. As one of our lovely readers suggested, this cake is certainly fit for Cinderella. I love the Photography by Stewart Leishman Photography, and Juli styled the shoot herself. Not only is she one of our most talented cake designers but she can style a dessert buffet to perfection.

We look forward to sharing more of Sweet! Cupcakes and Treats delicious designs with you soon.
