What’s your favourite part of your job?
I love creating unique invitations that tell a story.

What are you reading at the moment?
Australian Style by Melissa Penfold and Jenny Tabakoff and bunch of interior magazines including Inside Out, Home Beautiful and Real Living

What are you lusting after at the moment?
We are building a new home so anything from www.carinasherlock.com.au.

Top three songs on your play list?
Dream about Changing, Sally Seltmann
Big Jet Plane, Angus and Julia Stone

What is your favourite moment during a wedding?
When the bride and groom see each other for the first time.

Who inspires you?
Oh that is a tough one – there are too many people to list. I’m really inspired stylist Shauna Faust, interior designers, Sibella Court and Shannon Fricke, illustrators Katie Kirk and Jessica Hische. Goodness, I haven’t even got past the designers.

Favourite Cocktail?
Moscow Mule

What does it take to impress you?
People who give up their free time to volunteer.

What is the best piece of advice you were ever given?
‘ If you fail to prepare be prepared to fail’

Favourite way to spend a Sunday?
Catching a few little waves with loved ones.

Black Tie or Casual?
Casual, for sure. I love the idea of dressing up but feel more like me in casual clothing.

Your suggestion for a new name for ‘Hens party’
I can’t think of anything that wouldn’t be found offensive on some level.

Your favourite hostess gift to give?
Flowers. Closely followed by good wine or chocolate.

What’s the best gift you have ever received?
A thoughtful friend and an accomplished artist gave us a pastel drawing of our wedding location.

Three words that describe you best.
Casual, candid and playful.

Matching up the perfect vendor team for the bride and groom and styling their wedding and giving them ideas they never thought of.

What are you reading at the moment? 
My dad wrote a book on his life, so we all got a copy in our family.

What are you lusting after at the moment? 
My glass of wine at 5:00pm! A fabulous way to finish a day.

What is your favourite moment during a wedding? 
I have 2, ‘Showtime’ when guests enter the reception and, going home knowing nothing went wrong and I could not wipe the smile of my bride and grooms faces.

Alana's scalloped lace edged veil is just perfectly vintage and matched with the beading on her gown, she looks divine!

The hanging origami cranes in the tree [above] and the flower-adorned tractor [below] are such simple, but gorgeous personal touches.

A special photo hangs from Alana's bouquet. What a great idea for your "something old".

We love a bride with personality! Colourful tattoos and golden sandals - who says a Bride has to wear heels?!

Stunning flowers in simple vessels bring colour and beauty to the reception.

More simple, but very effective styling. Keeping the candy bar colours to pink and white keep the table from looking messy and cluttered, which is a perfect partner for the fuss free, beautifully chic cake.

How to write the perfect thank you note.

Writing the perfect thank you note is as easy as being yourself; keep it light and fun and follow these simple guidelines.

When sending thank you notes, the most important thing is to be timely.

When to Send....

• Send a thank you note whenever you want to say 'thanks', there really isn't any instance when sending a thank you isn't appropriate.
• Sending thank you notes gives every one a warm fuzzy, the person receiving the notes feels appreciated and you feel good for making them happy.

Timing: Follow Protocol (Within Reason)

• The official "rules" say you have three days, but it's probably more realistic to send the note within a week. The sooner you send the note the easier it will be to write, you can easily remember the event and will have more to write about.  If, for whatever reason, you can't send the note within a week, send it as soon as possible - better late than never.

What to Write About.... And How!

The main reason for writing a thank you note is to let the person know how much you appreciate their gift, write the way you would thank someone in person, keep the tone fun, casual and personal.  With that in mind try not to start your note with 'thank you for the...'

• Part One: Instead, open with how appropriate the gift is and how wonderful the gift-giver is: 'You've always understood my decorating style...'
• Part Two: After the warm welcome, feel free to show appreciation for the gift.  Yes, now is the time to write the words 'Thank you for the...' Where possible write a sentence or two on how the gift will be used.
• Part Three: To sign off look ahead to the next time when you'll catch up with each other, 'We'd love to have you over for dinner...'
